What kind of tea do you like?
Traditional teas, herbal, berry, fruit, tea from the East?
Which tea additives or spices do you choose?
Whatever tea you use to start your morning or end your day, don't forget one secret and very special ingredient: honey.

Honey has been used for thousands of years as a nutritional and therapeutic tool. Today, we are increasingly replacing sugar with honey, going back to its origins as the oldest sweetener in the world. In the past, dishes and drinks were sweetened only with honey, which is rich in valuable nutrients. While we have all tasted honey, it is worth remembering how valuable it is.

Health benefits of honey

Honey is a unique product that can protect us from many diseases when used as a preventive measure. When we are ill, it can effectively help us to get better. Doctors say that everyone should start the day by drinking at least half a glass of water with honey (a teaspoon of honey in half a glass of warm water at a temperature of no more than 40 °C and leave it overnight). This drink has detoxifying properties and restores physical strength. Honey has been shown to fight some bacteria more effectively than antibiotics!

Honey strengthens the body's immune system, heart, liver and digestive system. Its expectorant and anti-inflammatory effects in colds are well known. Honey has a positive effect on the respiratory system during infections: it relieves throat irritation, reduces throat irritation, relieves nausea and coughing, combats runny noses and fevers, and treats sinusitis.

Honey is rich in nutrients

As any beekeeper will confirm, the composition of different types of honey varies greatly. However, each type of honey contains the following valuable nutrients: organic acids: citric, malic, lactic, ant, valerian; amino acids: alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, lysine, leucine, isoleucine, serine, threonine, phenylalanine, valine, proline, cystine.

Honey is rich in minerals: sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, cobalt, phosphorus, iron, manganese, silicon and sulphur. It is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and many enzymes.

Benefits of honey in tea

Tea with honey is recommended for colds. As we have already mentioned, it is an excellent immune booster and antiseptic. Drinking honey when you are ill coats the throat and has an analgesic effect.

In addition to its healing properties, honey also has a rejuvenating effect. No wonder it is used as a base for masks. Regular use of honey also makes the skin softer and the substances in honey slow down the appearance of wrinkles. Honey is also a natural source of energy. It is therefore recommended to drink tea with honey in the morning to kick-start the metabolism and to give your body energy.

Iced tea with honey - why not?

When the temperature outside soars, there's nothing more refreshing than a glass of iced tea. Variations range from the traditional green, black, white and red tea versions with honey to more exotic recipes involving fruit or even sparkling water. Iced tea can be as varied as the weather outside.

Iced tea with honey is more than just a refreshing drink, it's a source of wellness. Red tea with honey can help boost the immune system thanks to its antioxidants. Caraway tea with honey can help treat respiratory problems.

Many iced tea recipes with honey are simple and allow you to experiment with different ingredients and flavours. But why not enjoy a ready-made honey tea? It can be made by adding one teaspoon of honey tea to warm (but not hot!) water - just stir well and chill. This tea is both mildly sweet and has a pleasant, light taste of berries, fruits and herbs.

Honey of Lipchius, forest honey, heather honey - all in the autumn blossom honey, which is the last honey harvest in Lithuania. It is one of the darkest honeys, sometimes resembling caramel in appearance, texture and taste.

In autumn, the number of flowers decreases, so the bees collect this honey only from the sap of the latest flowering forest plants and trees. Where do bees get this sap? They get help from various beetles, mainly aphids. The aphids break down the integrity of the plant and the honeydew - the plant's sap - oozes to the surface. This honeydew is collected by the bees and stored in the hive to produce honeydew honey, and since it is collected in the forest, it is also forest honey.

Depending on the plants from which it is collected, honey from Lipchus has a wide range of health-giving properties. In folk medicine, it is used not only to relieve the symptoms of colds, but also to support the digestive and other organ systems.

To experience the health-boosting properties of honey, it is best to consume it regularly. One teaspoon of honey a day (e.g. with water) can significantly improve our health and immunity.

Let's develop good habits every day - delicious tea with honey!
